Master Electrician

Schneider Electric is hiring an experienced Master Electrician at our Pre-Fabricated Data Center factory in West Chester, OH. In this role you will be responsible for the production, performance, NEC compliance and quality of all electrical equipment integrated in the factory.
What do you get to do in this position?
Perform and grow as the in house expert on electrical installation methods, NEC code compliance, best work practices and worker safety in an engineering and production environment.
Perform as a role model technical and manufacturing professional in a team environment.
Responsible for hands on and direct management of other laborers in the safety, quality, and conformance of electrical equipment installs on all projects.
Manage in house and contracted labor. May perform work of lower level electricians.
Ensure that in house and vendor resources are adequate and capable to support the construction schedules and project demands.
Manage equipment quality including review of specifications, estimating and quoting, scheduling, review and support submittals, support to design engineering, execution of installation, support testing: UL, end of line and factory witness.
Partner with purchasing and engineering to qualify suppliers.
Provide performance management feedback to purchasing for supplier management.
Provide constructability reviews and value engineering feedback into design process.
Validate that drawings and specifications accurately reflect the desired equipment quality.
Support preconstruction activities to ensure consistency across all projects
Ensure all equipment is properly specified, is available, and constructible.
Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices.
Must have overall well rounded expertise in commercial and industrial electrical construction including 3 phase low voltage power projects in excess of a megawatt. Specific expertise in Data Center electrical systems, controls, power management, medium voltage distribution is a huge plus.
In depth understanding of the NEC and the ability to patiently teach others about the code and the reasons behind the rules is required.
Ability to troubleshoot complex performance problems.
Expertise in working around energized electrical work, control of hazardous energies, proper PPE for the task, lockout/tag out procedures, and kirk key schemes.
Comprehension of critical-path schedule development, management of trade performance and productivity
Ability to read and provide feedback on electrical and mechanical drawings.
Helpful to be proficient with computers to include the utilization of Microsoft programs such as Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook.
Able to work in a team environment. Even tempered and able to work through conflict with others. Flexible and willing to consider others ideas but confident enough to determine proper direction.
Ability to manage stress in a sometimes fast paced multi project environment effectively.
Familiarity with equipment manufacturing, factory process and quality control desired.
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Educational
Experience:
Master Electrician with an extensive career in building complex industrial electrical systems.
>15 years in the trades
>3 years' experience in the data center industry
Physical requirements:
Familiarity with construction sites and hazards and ability to navigate and control project sites safely.
Hands on electrical wiring and installation in a climate controlled factory. Expect physical work to be a primary part (more than 60%) of this job.
Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate any required computer keyboard, mouse, and other technical instruments.
Must have color vision.
Able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
Able to climb a ladder and work on a raised platform.
May require travel for short periods of time
