POSITION PURPOSE Responsible for performing collections activities associated with various delinquent member accounts, including Visa credit and debit cards, lines of credit, secured loans, signature loans, real estate loans, and home equity lines of credit.
Sends first and second delinquency notices to members.
Answers incoming calls in the department queue.
Ensures that the Credit Union's professional image is maintained.
Follows the Fair Debit Collections Practice Act.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND JOB DUTIES Performs filing and related record keeping duties for the collection department.
Sends 1st and 2nd delinquent notices to members.
Processes and files disability & life insurance claims.
Assigns loans and credit card accounts to 3rd party collection agencies.
Assumes responsibility for the effective performance of all assigned secretarial and clerical functions.
QUALIFICATIONS Education/Certification:
High School graduate or equivalent with emphasis on secretarial and business courses.
Required Knowledge:
General understanding of Member Solutions functions, policies, and procedures.
Familiarity with required computer applications.
Experience Required:
One to three years of similar or related experience.
Experience in a financial setting preferred.
